I am a freelance travel writer who specialises in writing about Italy.
I have an in-depth knowledge of the country based on years spent travelling there and I have developed a good understanding of its language, culture, history and politics.
Having obtained the Institute of Linguists final diploma in Italian in 2000, I am able to communicate well with Italian people and translate original material available only in Italian. I have been a member of the Dante Alighieri Society for more than 20 years.
As a holder of the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) Proficiency Certificate I am reliable and professional and used to delivering well written copy to deadline.
I have more than 30 years’ experience as a journalist and sub-editor, which has taught me to be thorough and accurate and able to produce high quality written material in a variety of styles.
My deep interest in Italy has prompted me to look at topics with a fresh eye and bring some of the less well-known parts of the country to the attention of travellers.
I specialise in writing copy for:
- Guide books
- In flight magazines
- Tourism organisations
- Consumer travel publications
- Hotel reviews
- Book reviews
See my Work Samples page for examples of my writing.
I have an extensive library of high quality images of Italy and I am an expert on the regions of:
- Emilia Romagna
